Concordia University, Wisconsin: Short-Term Study Abroad Opportunity, 26 May – 14 June
Westfield House will be host to a short-term study abroad group from Concordia University, Wisconsin, joining us in Cambridge for some great philosophy! The Rev’d Dr Gregory Schulz, Professor of Philosophy at Concordia University Wisconsin, will guide the student group through select texts of mediaeval philosophers such as Augustine and Anselm, Abelard, Scotus, and Ockham. Meanwhile, there will be day trips to Canterbury (Augustine and Anselm), Bath (Abelard), and Oxford (Duns Scotus and William of Ockham). There are many mediaeval manuscript collections in Cambridge to visit, as well as local sites giving students an idea of life in mediaeval times (e.g. West Stow Anglo Saxon village, Lavenham (one of the best preserved mediaeval villages in England), Ely cathedral, and Longthorpe Hall (for mediaeval wall paintings).
